The second in this series, this past week proved to be
deceptively busy. Response time suffered significantly. This week’s
project delivery timeline and on-site client meeting detracted me managing my
workload effectively, increasing a 10 hour average response time ovalmost 1 ½ days!
Wow. It does, however, appear the the gap between workload and effectiveness is
beginning to shrink, albeit slight, with Friday being especially efficient.
I’m working on a strategy to schedule post-meeting
deconstructs to systematically delegate and or schedule activities that result from
these meetings. Until then, overall volume was lower but was compressed/compound
by my absence while in the field.
Nevertheless, I’ve managed to keep the inbox under
control and within my goal this week by remaining below 100 items (open loops) in
my inbox at any given time.
